I’m not missing in action, I swear. Just busy. Work is taking up all of my time it seems even if I’m only working 4 days a week. And with Christmas next week everything has been more hectic than usual.

Let me assure you that everything is fine with all of us.

Derek has got another tooth making it a total of 7 visable. He is also eating and sleeping like a maniac making me think that another growth spurt is around the corner.

Bishop is busy trying to do some online store training in hopes he can get a raise…here is hoping that he does. We could use the money.

I’m working, and working, and working. My feet are slowly getting used to it and my shoulder is still hurting though not as much. I’m hoping that all the compliments I keep getting from customers start paying off and reaching the store manager’s ears, more hours would be nice.

In general news we are almost finished paying off our truck….$1450 left on it. I think that when we get our tax return the truck will get paid off first. Plus a couple other bills. It will be nice to get that bill off our bill list. And an extra $225 a month wouldn’t hurt anything.

I’ll try to check in before Christmas but if you don’t hear from me believe me when I say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and I hope everyone has a great time.

Lately I’ve been slacking, big time. Although I’m working part time now (3 days one week, 4 the next week) it seems like I don’t have the energy to do anything, especially on my days off. Those days just seem good for sleeping, which of course I can’t do because I’m watching Derek. So instead we end up playing on the floor all day and running errands. And my blog has suffered, I’m only posting on here once a week or so and my other blog, cyberrbluefoods.wordpress.com, like twice a week, and usually they are on the same day. I guess 3 posts a week isn’t bad but I’d like to do more….

Bills are slowly being paid off, we got behind a little when the job went bye-bye but we are catching up for the most part now. And since Christmas is just around the corner I’ve been trying to shop a little bit at a time so it’s not all one big drain on the bank account. Lindsey is all bought up for, I’ve got a couple small things for Bishop but other than that I still need to go shopping. Getting a weekly paycheck is helping with that, I can buy a little each week and not make a huge dent but I’ve got to start doing it, and stop putting it off. Next week I’ll do most of it since there aren’t any bills due then. Wish me luck!

So some updates…

….my job is going great, I just wish I would get some more hours (4 days off this week….not good for the paycheck) and that I would hurry up and get my first paycheck…. As of the 10th I’ll have been working for them for a month and I’m getting anxious…..

….my feet are doing much better and my shoulder is feeling pretty good too. Thankfully I didn’t hurt either, they are just tired. And I have the rest of the week off to rest and recuperate.

…..I burned my hand the other day, not at work where I work with a fryer and an oven large enough for 12 people to stand in it. No, I burned my hand trying to rescue my turkey melt out of the toaster oven. It wasn’t bad the first couple days but when I went to work yesterday morning and put on my glove it got all irritated and now it’s killing me. Sucks.

….and we are entering dire straights because of the money situation. I got everything cleared up with EDD but my check may not get here until the end of NEXT week…meaning our rent check will bounce for sure unless the landlord decides to hold onto it for a week….he has done that before, I can only hope that he does it again. So theoretically Bishop will get paid next week and so will I, hopefully both my paycheck and my EDD check will come in. That would be nice since that way we could pay off all the bills that are stacking up, and maybe be able to get some Christmas gifts too. At this point I’d be happy to have a hundred dollars for food and gas. Sucks even bigger.

Hopefully next week will be better so I’m just going to keep my head down and cross my fingers that everything works out.

These are the two things ruling my life right now.

In the last 2 weeks I have worked 10 days of midnight to 8:30 am shifts in a grocery store bakery. It’s a good job, when everything is going right it’s fine. When things aren’t going all right it’s still ok because it’s not my fault it’s going wrong. And my manager knows it and is ok with it. This last week was pretty hectic with shipments not coming in and then when they came it they were under a ton of ice cream and frozen pizzas. Stuff like that. Then yesterday. I got to work and everything was stocked up, no trips to the freezer (on the other side of the store) to get the things I needed to do my job. I put on some Manson on my iPod (forgot to charge that last night…oops! Tonight before I go to bed I’ll have to do that….) and drank a couple cups of very strong coffee and got to work. I was done by 7am. It was a great thing. Today is my day off, it’s wonderful. I have to work tomorrow then I’m supposed to have the rest of the week off….I might get more hours, I did put in the request, so we’ll see how things look tomorrow.

Unemployment is dicking me around. It really sucks. I made a mistake on my claim form, the last claim form and now they won’t give me my check because of that mistake. Easy to fix, right? NO! I tried calling them, all I get is a message that says they are experiencing more calls than they can answer then it hangs up on me. EVERY TIME I have called in the last week it has done this. Yeah, I know, end of the month/holiday/extensions and lots of people still out of a job and all that but still. We were really counting on that money to pay rent and bills and you know, maybe buy food and gas to go to work with and such. So today I get to call them over and over and over until I actually talk to someone. You know, if they hired like 100 more people that would be like 100 more people who aren’t claiming unemployment and they wouldn’t have to hang up on people trying to fix small errors that could potentially leave them homeless…..just a thought.

Today is my day off…..YAY!!! After working 5 days, 8 hours a day, on my feet in the dead of night I’m so ready to spend today and tomorrow with my shoes off and my feet up. Alas, that will not be because I have a chiropractor appt today and Derek has his one year appt today also. And I have to make some stuff for Thanksgiving (check out my food blog for the menu and shopping trip) and clean up the kitchen in hopes that we can all sit around the table and eat in there. Not sure how that is going to work out but I can hope I can make it work. Right now my table is a mess….

Work is pretty good. I like the people I work with, my manager is pretty cool. The hours are ok but the real problem I am having is with my feet (killing me!) and my shoulder (aching), hence the chiro appt today. I got to sleep in this morning, instead of waking up at 11pm I slept until 3am when Derek got up. He is asleep now so I’m catching up on all my internet stuff. Especially this blog and my food blog.

And more drama, my unemployment check didn’t show up yesterday….it was supposed to be here on Saturday but it wasn’t…. I’m pissed. I’ve paid into the stupid system for many many years, never once had to use it, then when I try to use it, because I have no other choice, they try to jerk me around and not pay. I’ve had 2 in office interviews scheduled for me, one I made, one that I called and canceled because I have a job now, but even then they gave me a hard time. And they want to do a phone interview the second week of December, between 10am and 12pm….um, I’ll be sleeping then…. The currant screw up may have been my fault, on my last claim it asked if I started any training. Well, I did, training for work. So I checked that box. Yesterday instead of my check I got all this paperwork for my training class teacher to fill out. Crap. I tried to call them to fix the problem and they had so many calls that the automated system hung up on me. I guess I’ll try again today, maybe I’ll get through, hopefully I can get this straightened out….

So if you don’t hear from me for a week no worries, I’m working and sleeping and trying to keep our life from falling apart at the seams from my lack of attention to the house…. peace y’all! Hope everyone has a good week and a great Thanksgiving!!!!!
