The weekend
October 26, 2009This weekend Bishop’s brother and his friend stayed with us. It was crazy, they didn’t get here until 3 am Saturday morning, that afternoon they went to the drag races, that night we had dinner and played the Wii. Everyone went to bed early. Today they went to the bar (a special one, one that is a biker place, BIL’s favorite bar around here) and came back and BSd for a couple hours and then left. Their drive is 8 hours long, I can’t imagine how they will be feeling in the morning when they go to work. Not good I imagine.
Tomorrow we’ve got therapy for Lindsey, a meeting for her as well and I need to go to Costco and Target. I got my unemployment check, bad news there, it was half of what it was supposed to be, so I can’t buy more than I’ve planned for: cat litter, cafe de vita and imodium at Costco and I need to exchange a sweatshirt at Target and pick out something for Lindsey’s birthday which is Tuesday. Hopefully I can find something for her that is right up her alley and yet isn’t expensive.
New blog for food!
October 24, 2009So this blog was supposed to be all about my life and since my life has a lot to do with food I’ve included it. But I’ve noticed that my blog is now over run with food posts, recipes, menu plans and whatnot. So I’ve made another blog, I’m working on it right now so please be patient if there is nothing on there when you do click on it, but by tonight it should be up and running. I am going to transfer all my posts that have menu plans/grocery trips and recipes on them over there and there will be a search box if you are looking for something. Also the tags are going to be shown so you can search for just recipes or to look at the menu plans or grocery trips.

October 11, 2009I got my first payclaim for unemployment…they are only going to pay me HALF of what I was making. HALF!!!! It’s barely enough for us to be able to pay the bills. I’m kinda dissapointed. I thought their payscale was more along the lines of 2/3 or 3/4. HALF seems like a major insult added to the injury that I have to file. Not cool. Is half normal?
BUT! I have an interview on Monday for the dental clinic to be a receptionist. Not only will it pay pretty good but I would have a chance to fix my fucking teeth. After many many years of no dental insurance and only being able to get to the dentist when something bad happened (like a broken tooth) my teeth are in sorry shape. The job would be nice, wish me luck.
Yesterday we worked at Granny’s house, trying to get everything together for the garage sale next weekend. Or at least the intention to have the garage sale next weekend. Ug, it would go so much faster if mom would get her act in gear and not depend on me to organize everything. She drives me nuts.
